.The Shinyanga Zone Offices are located in the Shinyanga Municipality and are led by the Regional Manager. The zone was established strategically to be able to serve the Regions of the Lake Zone which are Tabora, Shinyanga, Mwanza, Simiyu, Mara, Geita, Kagera and Kigoma. Shinyanga region has warehouses with the capacity to store 14,500 tons of grain.

Currently, the agency is implementing a project to increase grain storage capacity by building modern sheds and warehouses to improve storage structures in the Ibadakuli-Shinyanga area of the city. The completion of this project will increase the grain storage capacity from the current 14,500 tons to 44,500 tons.

Grains bought, stored and circulated/sold through Shinyanga Zone are maize and rice. The Shinyanga region is one of the regions that has a great need for grain in its markets due to low grain production in the regions served by this region.
