PRESIDENTS OF TANZANIA AND KENYA APPLAUD NFRA’s PERFORMANCE
The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, and the President of Kenya, H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, have commended the performance of the National Food Reserve Agency (NFRA) following their visit to the NFRA exhibition booth, where they received a briefing on the Agency’s operations. The event took place during the Tanzania–Kenya Business Forum held at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam on May 4, 2020.
During the forum, NFRA highlighted its strategic contribution to strengthening national and regional food security, thereby stimulating trade within East Africa. The Agency also showcased its capacity to supply up to 1.5 million tonnes annually to both domestic and regional markets.
The Presidents’ visit has provided NFRA with renewed motivation to further enhance its performance and accelerate its expansion into regional markets, while remaining committed to its core mandate of ensuring food security at both national and regional levels.
The forum is expected to unlock additional opportunities for trade collaboration between Tanzania and Kenya.
