Kipawa

Kipawa Zone offices are located in Mbozi road, Chang'ombe City of Dar es Salaam and is led by the Zone Manager. The zone was established strategically to be able to serve the Eastern Coast Regions of the country which are Dar es Salaam, Lindi, Mtwara, Pwani, Tanga and Morogoro. The Kipawa region has warehouses with the capacity to store 52,000 tons of grain, in Chang'ombe and Kipawa areas.

Kipawa Kanda in its establishment was specifically for receiving food reserves from areas with sufficient surplus of grain production. This strategic zone is a zone located in the center of the city which has many ways of receiving and transporting food through the ports of Dar es Salaam, Mtwara and Tanga, railways and roads as well as having a large number of people and residences.

Grains that are bought, stored and distributed/sold through Kipawa Zone are maize, rice and sorghum when there is a large production. The great demand for food in this Zone is to deal with the lack of food in various markets due to the Regions served by the Zone being frequently short in food production and having great commercial needs.
